Frequently asked questions about SquadStats.

Plans and pricing

Does the Free plan expire?

No, the player app and basic use are free forever. The SquadStats team sets your account up after a short call, no credit card needed.

Is there a free trial?

Yes: after you tell us about your team, we set up a demo with temporary access, at no cost and no commitment, before anything is agreed.

How much does it cost?

There is no public rate: terms are prepared for each club according to how it works and what it needs. Tell us your case and we’ll send you a proposal, with no commitment.

What if I manage two or more teams?

The Institution plan is designed exactly for that: several teams in a single account, each with its data isolated. Tell us how many teams you run and we’ll prepare the terms. For a single team, the Team plan is the option.

Can I mix disciplines?

Yes. In Institution each team has its own discipline —with its positions, tests and statistics— and its data is not mixed with the other age groups.

How does staff access work?

In Institution, the account owner decides which member of the coaching staff accesses which teams. You do not have to give everyone access to every team.

Concepts

What is an AMS (Athlete Management System)?

An AMS is the software that centralises a team’s performance —wellness, load, injuries, tests and statistics— in a single panel for the coaching staff. SquadStats is a multi-sport AMS for the coaching staff of team sports.

What is ACWR?

ACWR (acute:chronic workload ratio) compares the load of the last 7 days with the average of the last 4 weeks; between 0.8 and 1.3 is the optimal zone, and above 1.5 the risk of injury increases.

What is sports wellness?

Sports wellness is the daily record of how the player feels: sleep, mood, muscle soreness, motivation and stress, on a scale of 1 to 5. SquadStats averages it, paints it by zone and warns you if a score is low or drops against that player’s own normal.

What is the difference between internal and external load?

Internal load is what it costs the player (the rating of perceived exertion, or sRPE: RPE × minutes) and it is what drives the ACWR. External load is what the body does (metres, sprints, player load) and comes from GPS: it is measured and compared, but it does not enter the ACWR.
